The Heart Foundation (“the Foundation,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to safeguarding your privacy and personal data. As a nonprofit organization, the Foundation is committed to saving lives from heart disease, the #1 cause of death for both men and women in the United States. Donations made to the Foundation are used to increase awareness of heart disease, educate the public, and fund innovative research at Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai for improved methods of prevention, detection, and treatment. The Foundation also offers digital and non-digital tools for patients, families, and donors to learn more about heart disease and engage with the community.
This Privacy Policy explains the Foundation’s online information practices and outlines the choices you can make about what information you provide, how your data is collected and how it is used. This Privacy Policy applies to all information received by the Foundation, both online and offline; any electronic, written, or oral communication you share with us; and any information you provide to third-party vendors operating on behalf of the Foundation.
The Foundation reserves the right to make changes to this policy as needed to comply with evolving legal and regulatory requirements. Your continued use of our Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
What Data We Collect
The Foundation collects several types of information about you, depending on the action you take. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on our website, make any purchases through our websites, use any of the interactive or public comment features of our website, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address or any screen name or user name you may use. To protect your privacy and security and the identity of the Foundation’s donors and community members, we will take certain steps to verify your identity before granting access to your information or making corrections. You will be asked specific questions, including full name, address, phone number, and, if applicable, the last 4 digits of your credit card number and/or expiration date.
