MARSHALL EZRALOW

The Heart Foundation is honored to have presented the inaugural Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award to Marshall S. Ezralow, a man who has inspired his friends, his profession and his community through his generous acts of philanthropy, leadership and hope.

Marshall Ezralow is founder of the Ezralow Company, one of the largest and most successful real estate development companies in California and perhaps the United States.  This fourth-generation family business, which now includes sons Bryan and Marc Ezralow, has redefined the landscape of Southern California real estate with its acquisition, development and management of more than 20,000 apartments and 6 million square feet of business space.  Through all of the growth in the past four decades in business, Marshall Ezralow has remained focused on creating a successful business run by “a family” of professionals that provides the best to their customers, investors, partners, and the community they serve.

Ezralow’s business philosophy extends to the wide-ranging philanthropic and community endeavors in which he is involved.  Having developed and served in leadership roles for some of Los Angeles’ most important charities, such as The Los Angeles Music Center, DARE, USC Norris Cancer Center, The Guardians for The Jewish Home for the Aging, The Weizman Institute, STOP Cancer and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Ezralow is now lending his support to raising awareness for heart disease to help stop the disease that kills as many as 1 million men and women each year.  Though Ezralow does not suffer from the disease, he knows all too well the tragic effects of heart disease.  Steven Cohen suffered his fatal heart attack at the Mid-Valley Athletic Club, co-owned and co-operated by the Ezralow Company.

Since Steven’s passing, Marshall has been a strong supporter of The Heart Foundation and has personally taken the initiative to raise awareness and financial support for the research being conducted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

As the first recipient of the Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award, Ezralow takes the award seriously.  Not one for being in the public spotlight, this is one of the first awards Ezralow accepted from an organization in quite some time.  Ezralow’s reputation is to take an idea, create a platform for growth and success, and build long-term growth and stability with every venture.  The Heart Foundation has benefited enormously from Ezralow’s wisdom and commitment.  The Heart Foundation is grateful to Marshall Ezralow for using his philanthropic vision and business expertise to redefine the business of stopping heart disease in its tracks.
