Ryan Seacrest to Emcee; David Foster to Present
Los Angeles, CA (April 4, 2012) – The Heart Foundation, dedicated to building awareness of heart disease and raising funds to support lifesaving research, presents a rare musical evening with Grammy award-winning singer and actor Michael Bublé, May 10, 2012, at The Hollywood Palladium. Event honors Kimberly and P.K. Shah, MD, Director of Cardiology and the Oppenheimer Atherosclerosis Research Center at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, with The Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award. The evening will feature a dinner show and concert by Bublé and his orchestra along with a comedy performance by the versatile Dana Carvey. Ryan Seacrest will emcee and multi-award winning composer, singer, songwriter and record producer David Foster will present the award to the Shahs. Shelli and Irving Azoff, Mary Hart and Burt Sugarman and Inge and Franky Widjaja co-chair the event.

P.K. Shah, MD, Director of Cardiology and the Oppenheimer Atherosclerosis Research Center at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, is a gifted clinician, a brilliant researcher and a world-renowned cardiologist who spends his days sharing his wisdom with the next generation of medical professionals, healing the hearts of his patients in both physical and metaphorical ways, and engaging in life-saving research that will change medical history. Dr. Shah has spoken at conferences all over the world, is published globally, and has received numerous awards.
An accomplished businesswoman, community activist and devoted wife and mother, Kimberly Shah’s greatest joy in life comes from dedicating her time to the service of others. The Shahs’ philanthropy extends not only to heart-related causes but also to KOA (Kashmiri Overseas Association) which provides college tuition scholarships to Kashmiri refuge students in India as well as to women’s cancer and diabetes research and several children’s organizations.
Established in 1996 in memory of Steven S. Cohen who lost his life to Sudden Cardiac Death at the age of 35, The Heart Foundation’s goal is to prevent, cure and eradicate heart disease, the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States today.
The Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award, named for the man whose sudden death transformed a community, was established to honor those who bring about change in the world and demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of humankind. Past recipients include: Wolfgang Puck, Berry Gordy, Kirk and Anne Douglas, Norman R. Brokaw, and Marshall Ezralow.
